The Knicks and their fans won’t be seeing LeBron James at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.
The Lakers star was suspended one game for his role in a bloody altercation with the Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart during the third quarter of the teams’ game on Sunday, the league announced Monday. Stewart was suspended two games.

James, 36, was ejected after elbowing Stewart in the face while battling for a rebound on a free throw during the Los Angeles’ win in Detroit. It left Stewart, who needed to be restrained multiple times, angered and with blood streaming down his face. The 20-year-old rushed toward James at one point. James was assessed a flagrant foul 2 and Stewart was given two technicals and was also ejected.

The Lakers are scheduled to make their lone appearance at MSG during the regular season on Tuesday, but will now do so without James.
